Hi there!

I am thinking of moving to the Philippines.

Is it possible for me to find a cashgame 7 days per week at NL 100/200P limits if I live in Manila or another place in the Philippines? It looks like the standard highest game is NL 50/100 and that is a little bit too low for me.

I have heard that Metro Club in Manila has this 100/200 game 4-5 days per week. Is this correct? And is it possible for me to find that limit som other place when there is no one running at Metro Club?

the hyatt poker room has the same game and it runs similarly.

Are you sure? Yesterday I called them and they said that the highest game they had on a daily basis was max buyin 20 000 pesos and minimum 5 000 pesos, I theen took for gruanted that this game was a 50/100 game?

Can you please tell me alittle bit about average buyins and stuff?

yeah that is a 50/100 game then.

at the metro if the game runs, 90% of the buy-ins will be in the 100bb-200bb range. You're best bet is still the metro over the hyatt in terms of reliability/ supply of games etc.

I only play at the Metro so am not sure about the other rooms but I heard Hyatt has some juicy games. Anyway at the Metro you're almost sure to have a 100/200 game on going almost everyday especially late night. And depending on who you're playing it can get real big, max buyin now is 100k...

I just called the Hyatt again, this time they let me to speak directly with the poker room. Now I got the info that there is a 100/200 game running thirsday to sunday there, you think this info is reliable?

I guess the game at hyatt is more juicy than the game at the Metro? Are there any rich recreational players at the Metro playing 100/200?

Also, I have heard of homegames running in Manila, you guys know if this is correct?

Just curious was there a game ever in the Philippines where the blinds went over the 100/200 game? Was there a 500/1000 game ever or higher?

almost everyday for 2-3 months when the metro first opened

Hi thomas, we talked on the phone last week. This is Miguel from The Metro. I think you found the right place to ask and confirm your questions about the game. This forum is very balanced in rating the poker rooms here and you will find all kinds of information you need as well.

The Metro has a 100-200 game almost everyday, and sometimes even bigger games as well.
In terms of diversity of players, The Metro has its share of professionals, recreational players, and rich guys with money to burn, or as we call them, fish

Just ask 11finger, he plays that game almost everyday. Sometimes you will find 2 tables running at the same time for 100-200 as well.

And even our 50-100 games can get pretty high action! I have heard of people winning 100,000 and up on the 50-100 table several times.

Anyway, just dont hesitate to get in touch with me again if you need to ask anything else. good luck!

500-1000 was a normal table during the first few months of The Metro, it still happens once in a while today. There used to be this BIG game a long time ago... 1k-2k i think, tapos lahat sila paid each other in checks and IOUs hahaha

That's the minimum Denim Ong will play... otherwise you have to pay him 100k just to play at lower stakes...

It didnt really disappear, it just evolved into a 100-200-500 (forced straddle) game.

From what I understand I would be able to find me a 100/200 game 4-5 times per week.

I guess I could play a 50/100 game the other days. Can anyone please tell me how high the biggest 50/100 games play? Sometimes they play way higher than what the blinds say it would do.

I have played a similar game in Pattaya Thailand and that games played like a 100/200 game since the standard open raise was like 14 BB, and average buyin almost 200 BB.

Raise 15xbb and get 5 callers, go all-in for 20,000 on a drawing board with your AA and get called by someone on a straight who put 500 in the pot pre flop... etc etc

I heard the same 50-100 table gets 'upgraded' to 100-200 as per demand of the players too! Only for the ballsy...and it is not me.
