Empathy By Conrado de Quiros, Theres The Rub-Philippine Daily Inquirer

"The trick is not in having come from the poor, although that helps. The trick is never forgetting what it means to be poor, and not wanting others to remain poor. The trick is not in having been the poor boy from Lubao, it is in continuing to feel for the poor of Lubao.

Most people I know who come from the poor become obsessed only with getting rich, even if that means taking from their once fellow poor. Only rarely do you find people who come from the poor opting to remain poor to help the poor. That is the difference between Manny Villar and Efren Peñaflorida. Which is why Peñaflorida became CNN’s Hero of the Year, and which is why Villar will become poorer only by P8 billion after this campaign."

As of now, I am not pulling for Noynoy as much as I did before. He has flip flopped on alot of issues, and seems undecisive on his very own plan. That really concerns me, right now Gibo is doing and saying all the right things. He is my top pick as of now

Gordon: Angara was not Villar’s emissary in bribe offer

Christian V. Esguerra , Philippine Daily Inquirer March 04, 2010 20:33:00

Gordon called public attention to how exactly Villar had amassed his wealth, which purportedly enabled him to make the huge bribe offer to him.
He said Villar benefited from the P42 billion the National Home Mortgage Finance Corp. borrowed from the Social Security System, Government Service Insurance Corp. and Pag-ibig from 1988 to 1994.
He said the government was left shouldering the burden left by some 53,000 bad loans.
“He has a history,” he said of Villar. “If this is pieced together, he is living on a deck of cards. He’s covering his tracks.”

Aha! He made an allusion to cards. Therefore, Gordon must be pro-gambling. And we should vote for him.

Gordon is the kind of leader we need in the country right now. If Villar wins, we are back to the same
old regime (Arroyo time). If Noynoy wins, we are back to the same old Cory time.

Guys,
I think we can still do something. If you are convinced that Gordon is our best choice lets do networking ala
"Pay it Forward". Let's convince our friends to confirm support or those supporting other candidates to convert support
to Gordon. And ask them to do the same on 5 or more of their friends and those 5 to do the same on another 5.
If this will continue up to the downlines we could make a big impact. We experienced different presidents
but had the same result. I dont know about you but I dont want to have the same bullS@#t again.

the problem with Gordon is that he has some anti-poor policies that won't win over the masses, like increasing the price of SMS. although the intentions are noble, more are bound not to go along with them.

http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/inquirerheadlines/nation/view/20100214-253072/Gordon-wants-tax-on-text-to-hike-teachers-pay-to-P40k

and his "arrogance" certainly won't do him any favors:
“If you don’t like it, you don’t have to vote for me. But I don’t want to grow old and say that I never tried. Forgive me if I give the wrong impression, but I’ve won all my political positions being like this."

I don't think it's HIS problem but more of the stupid filipino voting populace's problem. They are more interested in form rather than substance, they want candidates who coodle them, attend their fiestas, be god father's to their children, go to their funerals, promise them the moon and the stars, etc etc. While Gordon challenges people to be better and reprimands them for having low standards.

If we were in another country and people were all educated, he would be the front-runner in the survey. He maybe the president that we need, but truth be told, he has a snowball's chance in hell to win.
