just go straight to metro. there are at least 3 10/20 tables and 2 25/50 around that time. :D

Thanks. More questions:
1. What time does the action die out? I don't want to go there at 7am and have to finish by 8am.  :P
2. Usually those who are left are the sharks?
3. Any other poker room that has action around that time?

I realized MACAU fits perfectly your specification, including (in case your were bashful to mention) bevy of expensive international femme fatales (oops wrong word as you seem to be so averse to danger or DEATH).  but if you desire anything else at more economical level, we shall welcome you.

Regarding poker, you never mentioned anything about tournament (playing for glory) but rather cash games (playing for money).  my unsolicited advice, we have the best tourneys in asia but the biggest sharks too in our waters.  a singaporean buddy lost all his macau and manila tournament winnings in cash games and now looking for new job back home.

Hey Del,
Yeah, Macau used to be my hunting ground, 10/25 or 25/50 HKD. As for the femme fatales, they are lookers but they will suck you dry, literally.  :P I rather take my chances with the sharks.

I do love tournaments, I've played in some decent ones in Aussie, finishing 2nd, 3rd out of 4 tries. But my last tournament, top prize 400,000 peso. I was middle stack with 9 people left. Blinds were 1/2k, UTG raised to 8k, I four bet to 20k, late position shoved all in with pocket 7s. I called with JJ. Board was, 10, 8, 6, K............"bleeping" 9. Totally put me off tourneys for a while. But if my schedule is okay, I will certainly try my hand at the P500k tourney at Metro.

Cash game wise I am okay, I rather not play against fishes or calling stations. I feel that better players will buy my plays more. (for example overbetting the river....hehehe) But in saying that, I am going to Manila just to chill, I usually play higher stakes like P150/300 or higher, but I'll just play 25/50 for fun...

1. it doesnt die out. it only slows down. metro has this play for hours promo which attracts players so by 10am people already start coming in.
2. at 25/50, around that time, you'll be playing against house players. i suggest you play the 10/20 if you want action but be ready for badbeat miners and donk callers. LOL
3. only at the metro has players playing that early in the morning. on other card rooms, action start i think around 7-9pm.

You are worried? then dont come here, this aint no place for pussy like you, just go to VEgas.

the real picture is you can get rob anywhere u are, whether u are in New York, inside a church in ROme, just stay where you are, dont even come here, and I dont think you can afford going here anyway you cheap tard.

Thanks for your advice. Sometimes some people have BRs worth robbing and those who don't, usually don't worry about it. I've been to Vegas actually. If you like, I'll play you heads up when I am there. 25/50, 50/100, 100/200 your call.

Goodluck son, sorry i dont play headsup, just dont wear any jewelries, if people are too friendly then they need something from you, drink lots of water and dont underestimate ur opponents.

So, I have been to Manila and back, thanks for your suggestions and ideas, I have a reasonably enjoyable trip.

Hotel: Thanks to Welcoat for recommending Casa Bocobo. My first night was a bit noisy, so I requested a room change to the ones facing the back alley. Slept well. Small but cosy, cheap too. Very close to Manila Pavillion where I play most of my poker.

Manila: Very hot in the day time, raining in the evenings. Loved the P350 massage near Robinsons, the Hilot massage very good and good value. Went to Divisoria, was an eye opener to say the least. The churches are nice, did some shopping at Baclaran.

Food: Chef's Quarter at Adriatico was really really good. Also had lechon and other stuff like sisig. But got sick the next day. Thankfully i brought some diarrhea pills.

Poker: Metro has a lot of action, but TOO FISHY! You can buy in P200 at a 10/20 game and players just push with any two cards. When I bought in P1000, the guys look at me like I am a freak. Anyway I was creamed by fishes and lost P4000 there. Pavilion is good, 25/50 game, decent players, min buy in 2k. But the rake was terrible. We played from 8pm-7am and at the end, no one won except the casino. Then I played at Hyatt. Great 50/100 game there, plenty of fishes, won 20-30k a few nights, but lost to stupid baccarat players who shoved with S@#t and got lucky. Top pair beat my bottom set, top pair beat my straight flush draw with a pair, etc. All in with 40-50k pots, sick beats.

Women: I ventured to Sylvanus and Phoenix One. Sylvanus was bad, the women there were like sleepy and disinterested. Didn't pick anyone. Phoenix One was better, but still I just enjoyed the fish tank but did not go any further. But overall, many hot filipino women. For some reason filipino women had nice skin, better endowed than most asian women, pretty eyes... Saw some really hot women, but too bad Casa Bocobo has a strict no guest rule..... Was hit on by some women, doubt they were freelancers, one worked at the casino, really hot thing, but damn... no cigar.

Overall, nice trip. Had I won some of the pots where I was 70% favourite, would have been better. And had I stayed away from table games..... sigh... Thanks again everyone.

Congratulations, you survived!
I will talk only about the topics of my expertise, who recommended the above 2 places? Fire him!
Sylvanus@Pegasus claims to have the most skilled acceptable ladies along QA but the long time manager Romy is an AH.  Rooms are bad and you are right the ladies (ex-GROs) are older and lazier.
Phoenix One@Roman Suites is okay clean rooms but the Tsinoy owner spoils his ladies, who acts like prima donnas, demand 2k minimum tip most of the time, some with cars given by high roller guests or purchased from service income parked somewhere along Amorsolo st.  The few times i visited, i had complimentary service but the last time i even discharged the attendant due to non-mutual understanding.

Hey guys, (especially Del)

I am back, going to Manila next week. See how much I love your country. Anyway I will be staying near the Hyatt. Can someone help me out with:

1. How is the poker room action at Pan Pacific like?
2. How does it compare with Hyatt? (I've only played at the Hyatt, Pavillion and Metro)

Specific question for Del,
You said whoever recommended Slyvanus and Phoenix One should be fired. Then where do you recommend then? I just been to Ho Chi Minh recently and had a super time at a BJ bar. Any BJ bars in Ermita? Or what's your recommendation?

Cheers guys. Come by the Hyatt poker room next week and you'll probably see me there! I'll be the nit with the least chips. ;)

Looks like i have brought up an interesting topic. Hahaha. Search BJ Bars Manila and you might be surprised. BJ bar is like a bar, you walk in, the girls greet you, take you to the back room, take off your pants and the rest....

Any one can answer me about Pan Pacific?
Also NEW QUESTION:

- Does either Hyatt or Pan Pacific allow "running it twice"?

apologize for delayed response, the whole p burgos makati has dozens of equivalent so called bj bars.  it would be insulting for locals to be satisfied with their overpriced service.  on my last night in singapore  a poker buddy offered to take me to happy hour n chinatown.  i ask the details, ladies of different nationalities will butterfly among the different rooms offer various kinds of service, but most probably not all the way, tip starts from s$50 upwards.  i visited once more than 15 years ago, self label them as butterfly bars. waste of time.  there are a few sleazy bars in town that packages all the way deal for 2k.  in cebu jaguar it is 3500 classier place and sultry babes.  it is just not my game to do quickie less than 60 minutes in a sofa.

The reason i brought it up Del is because it is only like P430 in Ho Chi Minh for the service. And it was gooooood.

So where do you actually recommend then?

dong quan off gz, china can go as low as 100 rmb if no commision (less thn 700 pesos) for full service in your room, normally escort service price is highest anywhere ny lv sg hk starts at us$200 not in the city of dongs.  macau visitors, don't waste your bankroll at the overpriced saunas!
