The Poker Circuit Mother Board Event Mechanics

1.   Each event’s buy in will be Php5,000.00 and an entry fee of PhP 400.00. With multiple re-entries up to the end of the 1st break per starting day.

2.   For every PhP 500,000.00 guaranteed (“GTD”) in the prize pool will qualify nine (9) players to the finals, which will also be considered players “In the Money”.  Any funds in excess of PhP 500,000.00 will be filtered into the prizes for players “In the Money”.

3.   Pay out percentages will be based on the GTD and for every PhP 500,000.00 in the prize pool.

4.   Seats into the APT Main Event will be included into the prize pool.

5.   All venues will use the same blind structure and starting stack provided by the TPC as indicated in the table below.

6.   For the restart of the finals, blinds will be rolled back to the start of the round where the first venue to hit “In The Money” ended.

7.   Players chip stacks will be recorded and carried over to the finals.

8.   Players will be allowed to play multiple venues and may qualify into the finals more than once.

9.   Players qualifying more than once to the finals cannot aggregate their chip stacks.  The Player must choose which chip stack to play first.  Only when they exhaust the 1st chip stack played can they move on and play their next chip stack.

10.   Finals will happen on opening day of the APT Philippines (August 23rd 2010).

initial thoughts:

If a leg is not well attended (i.e. there's an overlay), the qualifiers from that leg will bring less chips to the finals than those from other legs.

This also sounds a bit weird:  :)

Interesting observations mindgames13. Especially with number 9. I'd like to slap myself around for not seeing that. I only read the first two sentences.

As it stands, I think they've posted the rules already and I doubt anybody's going to change it.

To be honest, the rules sounds too complicated... Can't they just guarantee the finals and not the per leg thingy ? How many legs will there be ? It says in the poster "guaranteed prize pool starting at Php1,000,000" does this refer to the Poker Royale Leg or for the whole Motherboard Tournament ? Quite frankly they should just removed the "starting at" word, you either guarantee 1M and stop there or guarantee more, there's no such thing as guaranteeing something that's variable...

I think it would be -ev for anyone to try to qualify multiple times. Basically you'll be watching your other chip stack get either blinded out or become insignificant due to blind increases...

Unsolicited advice:

So many things that should not be confusing was made so by the rules. The aforementioned 'starting at guarantee'.

From what I gathered, there should be more than one leg for the 'first round' before the final day to be held during APT week. That means, the guarantee should definitely more since every leg should have more guarantees. But I guess the starting at ..... is a way to protect the tourney in case only one leg will be held.

Which brings up, is it really going to have more than one leg since the poker royale tourney is going to be on aug 6-9 tapos the APT event will be on aug 23.? When are the other legs?

Calling it "In The Money" is confusing. Just call it final day(s).

entry fees and service charge may be standard in cardrooms around the world, but local players have been spoiled rotten by the metro having done away with it.

also, the facebook link is wrong. (unless sadya siyang ganoon) instead of going directly to the page of TPC, it goes to the Lloyd Fontanillas' personal site. medyo malabo. It's akin to having a movie poster list a website but it goes to the personal of the director not the movie.

Yup I agree  :).  But its good to have these discussions to help us make our individual decisions on whether to join this event.  Especially since this event has a "novel" concept.

It says in the poster "guaranteed prize pool starting at Php1,000,000" does this refer to the Poker Royale Leg or for the whole Motherboard Tournament ?

As I understand it, its for the Poker Royale Leg only since its the only one confirmed so far.  With additional legs, the guarantee for the whole Motherboard tournament will increase.

Calling it "In The Money" is confusing. Just call it final day(s).

I am assuming that it means everyone who qualifies for a Leg is already ITM.

Hi Poker Manila,

At the moment, the Guaranteed Prize Pool of the TPC Motherboard stands at PhP 2,000,000. This comes from Poker Royale and All In Cebu.

Poker Royale is currently running a promotion wherein they give 3 seats to their TPC Mothebroard leg during their Saturday 50K GP Tournament.

All entries that make it to the August 23rd Final are "In The Money". Imagine having two stacks at the finals. It means you have more than one chance to win the tournament and in fact will get paid twice. In addition, you can win more than one seat to the APT Philippines Main Event.
