" the law applies to all.... otherwise non at all...."  ngek...wpp...  mayor LIM.....

what cover up?

i just said that it has been settled privately diba?

konting kiliti lang po yun... ....  ngek...wpp.....

i would like to say lang.... since the issue was flooded sa FB and dito sa forum....

An update/conclusion from my end:

I've since been playing at the Midas, when one night I received a phone call from the floor in question who apologized, and admitted to the improper ruling. I said mistakes do happen and that I was just shocked about it, and that nothing can be reversed, and thanked her for the apology.

After finally receiving this apology, I decided to go back to the Metro again, where I spoke to Bryan TD who also apologized and said the issue would be addressed with the floor in question.

Due to these apologies I will play at the Metro again.

Outside of this I'm not sure what's happened. Ultimately if this thread/issue has led to anything, and if it can have any influence on anything, then I'd like to make the one and only following recommendation:

Give players who are unhappy with a floor decision a means through which they can let their concerns known to the management.

Train all floor to tell a player that they can speak to Bryan, or someone else in charge, and give them the contact number of Metro and the time they can call to speak to this someone. Don't presume that a player knows how to do this.

This would get rid of many arguments, and allow customers to feel much more at ease in the event of a ruling (regardless if the ruling is correct or incorrect).

If a player really does not accept a floor decision, and is visibly distressed by it, then train the floor to say "Sir/ma'am, this decision is final, however if you would like to bring up the decision with management, you may speak to one of the managers, Brian/Nina/whoever (perhaps a lower ranking management member to deal with the complaints) on this day and this time, here is their contact number"

If I was told something like that on the day I wouldn't have made this post, and would have done exactly that. Let players know how they can voice their concerns, instead of ignoring them completely when they ask who else they can report the matter to.

Doing this will leave a much greater impression with all players of the Metro Card Club, and will also alleviate the image of "always bad floor rulings" to "well if I can report this ruling to someone, then there must be a means of accountability for the floor after all". This will have a hugely positive impact for both players and Metro.

Also, stating that a bad ruling "is a house rule" doesn't hold any weight either, primarily because there are no house rules displayed anywhere (that I've seen anyway). In the absence of any house rules, the TDA or Robert's Rules must be presumed as the rules that are in place. Placing house rules where everyone can easily see them would alleviate many misunderstandings, and let players know if Metro has any deviations from TDA rules, and if so, what these deviations are.

In regards to this particular incident, (which could have been settled privately and much more easily if my above suggestion is implemented), I accepted the apology and have moved on.

As far as I'm concerned that's all from my end. An apology was made and accepted. Thank you everyone for listening to my concerns and bringing this to the attention of Metro, as I wasn't sure how to go about it.  I just hope my suggestion is listened to so this doesn't happen again with anyone else.

Maybe there should be a house rule wherein a player can seek for another floor to rule if he/she is not convinced on the first ruling.

I remember there was an instance, when there's an argument and the dealer called a lady floor and when she made a ruling, which I believed was wrong, I insisted on calling Bryan. The lady floor was offended saying "floor din naman ako ah". But when Bryan arrived, he reversed the lady floor's ruling.

Also, metro should tell its players not to get offended, if a player disagrees with his/her action and calls the floor. One time, in a tournament, a player was transfered to our table and he sat on the dead small blind, between the dealer button and the BB. the dealer said, the new player will be dealt after the button, I said he should be dealt in as SB. She insisted it can't be. I told her to call a floor but she ignored me and proceeded to deal the next hand with the new player sitting out. We're down to 2 tables then and the blinds are so high that every chip counts. the new player sat out two hands (the next hand was dead button).

It happened right before the break, so during the break I told the floor about it and she said the dealer shoud have dealt the new player. She said she will talk to the dealer. She did. end of the story? nah, the dealer made simangot and taray-taray at me  ;D

I laud Metro for addressing the issue albeit quite late as maybe they waited for Bryan to arrive from macau.

it wasnt "hindi lang case closed" polnkel..  if we fix this issue publicly, we are opening it to more arguments, which will end up dragging other topics/ issues to the main problem.  we opted to fix this privately, which i thought was the right thing to do.  if the floor had to say sorry, she should say sorry to the player, not to everybody..

as what pixar have said, the floor called him and apologized-  the floor acknowledged she was wrong and she didnt even argue with him anymore.  if she explained more or aired her side to everybody, diba mas issue pa yun?

regarding bans, fights, other chismis, etc,  i think this shouldnt come from the management.  sometimes, Metro isnt part of the issue, it just so happen it happened at the cardroom..  kahit naman kami, pag may nagaaway dito, hindi na kami nagmemeddle sa issues nila, sa labas nalang nila pagusapan.  regarding bans, this rarely happens, and if it does, mabigat ang dahilan..  for example, if ikaw yung nasa situation or ikaw naban, gusto mo ba pagchismisan ka ng lahat na naban ka or napaaway ka?   we also want to protect and respect peoples/players privacy.

hi Nina, this is kinda veering off topic but just want to put in my two cents. I kinda disagree with this, I think players who are banned for cheating etc SHOULD be publicized. It's for the protection of the playing public, who cares about their privacy they cheated they are not entitled to it.

Now if they were banned for some other reason (for fighting or getting drunk) then that's ok to keep private. But cheaters, I don't think so.

ofcourse if it were cheating, it should be publicized- even other cardrooms and casinos do this.  but if it were like the incident lastweek (the drunk guy), we opt to keep it private.

Agree with Sir Nicky on publicizing cheaters, people should know who the cheaters are. Also isn't that like the highest form of offense in gambling? Two people got banned for switching cards, I thought it was a permanent ban, yet I saw one of the offenders back in Metro yesterday.  :)
